New Wedding Dresses, Photo-shoot and January

January has disappeared amid constant coughing and sneezing, but things perked up towards the end of the month when I had some new dress designs photographed - at last! The photos were taken by Andrew at Lightworks Photography.

These dresses have been in the making process since last summer, and I'm really pleased to be able to show you them over the next few weeks. Running a small business, I find it difficult time-wise to be able to co-ordinate 'extra-curricular' activities such as designing and making new dresses and then getting them photographed - 'real' brides always take priority and that's how it should be, so this feels like an achievement! :-)

The above dress is called 'Emma' and is made of 100% silk Zibeline, with a silk Dupion and silk Organza skirt. It is one of my favourites, which is why I'm showing you it first, although it does go against my current design leanings in that it's strapless; I have tended to favour designing wedding dresses with straps/shoulders/sleeves etc for years now, but I do love the simplicity of this design, with only the tiniest bit of optional lace trim around the waist. The dress could also be made as a design with shoulders if you prefer, and it has pockets, which makes me happy for some reason!
