Glamorous Snowy Winter Wedding

Happy New Year!

What better way to start the New Year than with a romantic winter wedding?

Four days before Christmas, one of my brides - Clarity CB1 CEO & Executive Producer Saleha Williams (based here in Cambridge), eloped with her fiancĂ© and business partner Russ Gostelow to marry in the stunning snowy Canadian Rockies, Banff, Alberta, and I'm so excited to show you the images from their gorgeous, glamorous wedding day!

Saleha wanted a Dr Zhivago inspired look for her day. The wedding even took place in Lake Louise, Canada where part of the famous film was shot. Being an outside wedding (literally amidst the falling snow), Saleha came to me to design and create a bespoke red silk wedding dress, which would look stunning against the beautiful white snow.

For the snowy outside day ceremony, Saleha wanted a claret red silk duchess satin, full skirted ball gown style dress which would later transfer into a fishtail evening dress for the evening dinner. Choosing red also meant she could also wear the fishtail red silk dress again to black tie events.

I worked with her create a beautiful dress with a full skirt and train, which sat seamlessly on top of a strapless fishtail dress. No one realised it was one dress even with the skirt and train on top, which looked amazingly dramatic against the soft snow. We added a gray faux fur wrap, gloves, cuffs and hat to keep warm. I also made Saleha matching long silk fingerless gloves to keep her arms warm while outside and a matching silk bag for those bridal essentials.

It was a pleasure to work on a dress that was dramatic, stunning and totally romantic, as well incorporating the trend of wedding dresses that transform to give the bride a different look for the day and the evening.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these images as much as I did! Saleha and Russ look so happy, and I think you'll agree that she looks stunning! :-)
