And days of pinning and sewing lace applique onto what will be a fabulous dress. This is for a wedding in April so I can't show any more yet, but will do when the time comes. For now just a sneak preview.
OK, I was recently reading one of my favourite blogs The Coffee Lady and she used a great excuse for not posting regularly and referred to her last post of a few weeks back as 'just then'. Her excuse was that time travels faster as you age, to which I thought, how true is that? And decided to borrow that same excuse for myself! So in my last post 'just then' what was I on about? Showing you Hannah's winter wedding I think. Well quite a lot has happened since then, wedding work and otherwise. The thing with blogging is choosing what to share and what not to share. I'm sure many people like to read only promotional stuff or choose to write only 'happy' stuff, and that must be wonderful if it works for you, but I find that style paralysing for many reasons, not least because when one is a creative type, (I prefer the word 'bohemian' at present, but more on that another time! ;)) one is influenced and motivated by everything around one, a
A few posts back I showed you some pics of Jo - one of my summer brides and her dress as it was being made. I want to quickly revisit Jo and show you some more of her pictures, purely because they make me smile - she looks so relaxed and happy *sigh* :o) Before I forget, all the following pictures are courtesy of Kerpixel . Here she is walking towards the ceremony with her Dad... These next set of pictures are what I call the 'swishing series'! All systems ready... Preparing for take-off... We have lift off! Circling... And rest... A close up of the back detail The happy couple! I will visit this wedding one more time with some cute bridesmaid shots, but I'll save those for another day.
The way I work often involves lots of hand sewing, and this bespoke wedding dress was no exception. I listened to the whole of The Private Patient by P.D. James while working on attaching the lace motifs to this dress this week - that's a reasonably long story. It was quite satisfying because both the sewing and the story finished within minutes of each other! It looks lovely and is virtually finished for the final fitting next week. I'll be able to show and tell more at a later date. :-)
